Abstract. The article analyzes the perception of provocation by the youth student audience in the mass media as one of the types of manipulation of mass consciousness. Through a certain way of submitting information, its source (the media) achieves the desired result, initially assuming a destabilizing effect on the facilities of the recipient (mass audience). According to the results of a sociological survey conducted in the form of a questionnaire, a conclusion is drawn about the negative attitude of most students towards provocations in the media. Some constructive aspects of provocation as an impulse to comprehension and protection of one’s interests, a catalyst for determining one’s preferences and a way of involving in socially useful activity were also noted.

Abstract. In December 2012 the Russian State Duma (Parliament) introduced a draft law imposing sanctions against US citizens who had allegedly violated the human rights of Russians. The move was linked to a ban on future adoptions of Russian children by Americans. The measure was dubbed the “Dima Yakovlev Law” by Senators referring to the name of a Russian toddler adopted by Americans who was accidentally locked inside a car by his adoptive father during hot weather in 2008. The child died of heat stroke.
The adoption of the “Dima Yakovlev Law” generated a huge public outcry in Russia from the media as well as opposition activists and even a section of state representatives. The Russian news world has split into two teams – team State Duma and Team opposition.
The coverage of this subject by Russian media differs from one newspaper to another with respect to its policy. Using a content analysis of the print and online Russian media this study looks into the ways of coverage this case by pro-Putin newspapers as well as opposition ones and examines a level of ability of some newspapers to be critical towards the government and another ones to be supportive to the government. It is presumed that propaganda of the government’s as well as the State Duma’s actions took place with regard to promoting new ways of adoption. The other part of the media is considered to be an opponent to the first one and we look into the real content and try to discover whether there is a critics towards the law adoption or not and to what extent.

Abstract. The quality of public services is regularly criticized by the population of Russia. But it should be remark a noticeable improvements over the last 10 years. Through the provision of public services using information resources (e-government) and the construction of a system of openness (open government) has been improving the quality of public services and with it the improvement of the internal image of the state. But some services, particularly those, which are associated with creativity and regular contacts with the consumer, require a different approach to quality control and building of communication model. The intensity of information exchanges in society requires from the management culture of greater openness in order to meet the needs of citizens. The communication gap not only prevents the creation of the dialogue between government and society, but also hinders the process of community involvement in discussion of decisions taken by the authorities, prevents the commercialization of cultural sphere. Communicative-information structure of interaction between the bodies of management of culture with stakeholders will bring to the cultural sector additional resources in the form of personnel, finance, partners, new programs, information. Bodies of management of culture will act as moderators of the projects in the sphere of culture.

The dysfunctional impact of violence in cinema and the issue of its social regulation

Author: Kirill A.Tarasov

Communicology. 2017. Vol.5. No.3
Tarasov Kirill Anatol´evich, Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations. Moscow, Russian Federation.

Abstract. In the transitional period commercial censorship supplanted the state one. Being predicated on the former, the dominating disposition toward attracting maximum spectator attention to the films had as its consequence an unprecedented inundation of them with images of socially denigrated violence. The agenda of public debates began to feature the issue of their dysfunctional impact on the rising generations, and, along with it, a demand for the social regulation of producing and distributing the spectacle of such kind. For the corner stone, however, it makes more sense to put in something else: regulating the effects of screen-violence impact. In this regard consideration is given to its two facets – the attracting effect and the informational-contagious, and to two aspects of the social regulation – scientific-exploratory and social-practical. An issue is raised of tying-in the creative freedom with the social responsibility of filmmakers. The possibilities of solving the issue are conceived as lying in employing in Russia the three types of the social regulation used in the world practice: «regulation», «self-regulation», and «co-regulation».

Information-psychological warfare as a means of protecting the national interests of the state

Author: D. N. Kravtsov

Communicology. 2017. Vol.5. No.3
Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). Moscow, Russian Federation.

Annotation: the article considers the phenomenon of information-psychological weapons as an independent means of conducting information and psychological wars, used to achieve geopolitical goals and protect national interests. Information-psychological warfare is presented as a form of information confrontation, carried out at the communicative level through the use of means and methods of information-psychological influence on the mass consciousness for the purpose of its modification. These means and methods, acquiring the functional properties of weapons, are used by the opposing sides to solve internal and external political problems. One of the main types of information and psychological weapons is propaganda, and the analysis of contemporary military and political conflicts allows us to talk about the formation of a new kind of information and psychological weapons – information-simulated impact.

Key words: information and psychological weapons, information confrontation, information and psychological impact, national security, protection of national interests.

Structure of the conflict as a negative communication process in the educational space

Author: Dinara M. Shakirova

Communicology. 2017. Vol.5. No.3
Kazan State Energy University.

Abstract: The study of conflicts in the school environment emphasizes the complex dynamics of change, in which the social formation of modern schoolchildren is taking place. The article reveals the negative communication processes between pupils and teachers as subjects of the educational process. The structure of the conflict is viewed from both theoretical and applied points of view. An analysis of the theoretical aspects of the issue showed that in the first case the structure is the basis for the existence of a conflict that forms it as a dynamically interrelated integrated system. As components of the structure, the following elements are taken: 1) the conflict situation as a concatenation of life circumstances and the intersection of the interests of individuals and social communities, which by their behavior form the prerequisites for a possible clash between them; 2) the conflicting parties, in which both individual individuals and social groups can act; 3) the situation in which the confrontation of the conflicting parties is unfolding; 4) a problem that requires its solution and acts as a determinative cause. The application aspect of the issue was uncovered with the help of the author's sociological research conducted in Kazan in 2016. The volume of the target sample was 345 respondents. The article presents an assessment of the students' socio-psychological situation in the classroom, as well as the availability of classmates with whom the respondents are in conflict relations. A rating of the main socialization agents from the environment of the adolescent who provide direct assistance in difficult life situations and shows the place of the teacher in it. This article discusses the existence and nature of the spread of such forms of conflict as fights, brawls, verbal abuse, beatings. The role of the social environment from which a group of «instigators» is formed is shown. The characteristics of the students who make up this group and the style of their behavior in the conflict situation are given.

Abstract. In the modern world, the information society has gradually evolved into a digital one, finally translating communications into the virtual space of the global Internet. Large amounts of information (Big Data) are both an object of production activity, and a means of production. Under the new conditions, traditional marketing has undergone significant changes related to the cardinal transformation of behavioral characteristics of the consumer in the digital environment. Inevitably, the brand’s communication strategy also changed, as new points of contact with the buyer arose in the course of its product selection. The nature of interactions has moved into the plane of personal and partnership relations. Given the high speed of information dissemination in the Internet, any brand activity becomes a well-known practical instantly. In this situation, the brand’s representatives bear the burden of high responsibility for any action in the digital space. Today, the communication strategy of the brand has become socialized and has become more focused on personal interactive contacts with consumers.
