Abstract. The paper is dedicated to the analysis of the theoretical aspects of ethnic identity in political and communicative processes in the conditions of development of modern information society. The author has noted specific lines and main types of ethnopolitical communication and its dependence on stratification system with uneven distribution of resources and power between ethnic communities. According to the author, interethnic unranked interactions in political power dispose to achievement of ideological unity and to the establishment of the relations of cooperation, which is crucially important for stabilization of ethnopolitical situation.
