Annotation: The article is devoted to the process of formation and functioning of private secondary education, as well as the social and political risks that it produces during its operation. Advantages of private schools are condensed to the possibility of fine-tuning of the educational process to the needs of a particular student. Basic social and political risks associated with the operation of private secondary education in the Russian Federation are the risk of discontinuities of a single social
and cultural space; risks of pseudo estate education structure of the society, when the circuit is formed by mutually overlapping social groups, whose social practices do not involve public competitive interactions with other groups; conflicts related to the integration of graduates of various private schools in the overall system of higher education; conflicts associated with the interaction of private and public schools; artificial archaism of the educational process; excessive tendency of these
educational institutions to introduce a relatively cheap e-learning.
