Theoretical Interpretation of Restaurant Criticism in the Journal Periodicals

Abstract. This article is devoted to the analysis of criticism and contemporary types of criticism, relevant for the media discourse. The peculiarities of the implementation of restaurant criticism in the modern system of journal periodicals are being studied. Based on the study of previous scientific experience, we made an attempt to theoretically interpret the term restaurant criticism as applied to the media discourse and to elucidate the influence of the typological characteristics of the publication on the embodiment of restaurant criticism. The main genres of media criticism of restaurant criticism, which are characteristic for each type of journal media, are considered in the article. In addition, the article outlines the prospects for further study of the texts of restaurant criticism in the journal periodicals: glossy, geographical, travel, business, gastronomic. This work is based on fundamental research in the field of linguistics, culturology, psychology, sociology, and works on the theory of journalism and mass communications.
