The Problems of Islamic Law Through the Prism of Tatar Periodicals of the Early XX Century (on materials of the journal “Al-Din wa al-adab”)

Abstract. The article touches upon the problems of Islamic law, relevant to the early XX century. The source-based paper is drawn from the journal “Al-Din wa al-adab”. The study was dedicated to the Muslims, as reflected in the pages of the journal and the replies of the scholars on them. The study of these questions gives an idea about the problems that troubled the Muslim Ummah mentioned period, as well as on the views of Tatar theologians on issues of Islamic law. The study material made it possible to structure it thematically. In the end, the following were highlighted as the main problems: the ratio of ijtihad and taqlid, the problem of the new economic relations, the problems of marriage, family and inheritance peculiarities of worship, small-household issues with regard to music, as well as a number of questions on various subjects. As a result of analysis of the problems of Islamic law as disclosed in the Tatar periodical press, we can conclude that the subject of the issues was extensive, relevant were the issues of ijtihad and following of madhhabs, various economic issues, the problems of marriage and family relationships, inheritance rules, especially worship. A number of problems concerned small-household issues. Frequently asked questions related to music, and you can also select a separate set of problems “Different.” The decision of the majority of these problems according to the canons of Sharia, for the Tatars had an important socio-economic importance, which demonstrates the strategic influence of Islam on the social life of Tatars. Also discuss the range of issues indicates the active stance of the Tatar imams, mudarris and ordinary believers seeking to live according to the injunctions of Islam.
