Abstract: In Russia, the attention of the authorities is intensified through the reorganization of election commissions for the upcoming electoral cycles of 2017 – 2018. (In autumn – regional and
local elections, the beginning of the spring of 2018 – presidential elections). The presidential elections will be held for the first time after the extension of terms of office to 6 years. The article analyzes the residual negative attitude in society towards the use in some regions of an administrative resource during the election campaign «2016». In this regard, at the expert level, measures are proposed to further improve electoral legislation and some election procedures. Assessments of experts are conducted (surveys are organized and conducted with the participation of the author) to measure the influence of the 100th anniversary of Russian revolutions on the contemporary political and social reference points of citizens.
