The International Research and Practice Conference “Theory and Practice of Communication in Modern World”

December 8th 2015 in Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) was held the open session of in- and extramural International Research and Practice Conference “Theory and Practice of Communication in Modern World”, organized by Department of Journalism of the Institute of Public Administration and Management of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), International Academy of Communication, and scientific journal “Communicology”.

The conference has been dedicated to two important events.

The first one was the resolution of Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia to include the journal "Communicology" in the list of peer reviewed journals, wherein should be published the core scientific results of doctoral and candidate’s theses by fields of science: 22.00.00 – Sociology; 23.00.00 – Political sciences; 24.00.00 – Cultural sciences.
The other one was the second anniversary of the international scientific journal “COMMUNICOLOGY”. Since then the editorial board led by the chief editor Felix I. Sharkov has managed to provide a scientific ground to review current issues of theory and practice of communication sciences, public relations, media, fundamental communication studies, mastery of image, brand and reputation creation and management. 

The conference was attended by top Russian and foreign experts and scientists. Participants delivered scientific reports and congratulated the members of editorial board with the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission, which means an appreciation of contribution of the whole team and its leader to the development of a new scientific area of "COMMUNICOLOGY”.

Editor in Chief, President of the International Academy of Communication Felix I. Sharkov has announced the strategic plans, including the growth and similar registration of the Internet version of the peer-reviewed journal “Communicology”. By page traffic the existing website has already achieved leading positions among similar by remit and age: its Russian site has already got over 25.000 readers, the English version viewed and downloaded by more than 5.000 readers. Of particular interest for users abroad are the special issues, dedicated to communications in sociology, political and cultural sciences. The impact is 0.465.
